Welcome to the launch of the ‘Living Archive’ website and project!
Whether you are registered on our contact list or have come across this site by accident, we hope you find…
In 1899 the Irish Auxiliary began publishing its own annual report. Published by the Society’s Office in Dublin, it provides information on contributions by individuals, parishes, and groups from across Ireland. A small number of issues are missing from the current collection. However, the yearly issues provide a picture of wide support for the Society across the island. The map below aims to show the spread of parishes only. It currently does not indicate numbers in the parishes or the years of contributions. Names and groups of parishes appear as printed in the Annual Reports. At times there are spelling changes and connections between parishes or regions and parishes are altered from one year to another. Where possible, these variations are retained in the lists. Some references apply to general areas rather than specific parishes.
Does your parish currently have information relating to their work with SAMS Ireland that might be added to our living archive project? We would love to hear from you.
